Day Twenty-Two
03/06/25 - Day Twenty Two
A rather uneventful day, that rained on and off. Luckily not whilst I packed or set up my tent. After seeing my panniers in the cold light of the morning - the last couple of wet days had really done a number on them - I decided that mudguards weren’t a myth, and that I should probably acquire some. I stopped at a bike shop after my morning miles and got a rear guard.
Later on I met four friendly Belgians fellas as they rested in a town, and we continued to play a game of leap frog for the rest of the day! I managed to dry out my tent somewhat in a spell of sunshine and was back on the road. After lunch it was all action stations as suddenly a code brown was on the cards. In my desperation, I left a rather conspicuous package near a fishing lake. God help whoever stumbles across that one, trust me!
It was 6pm when I passed a campsite for tents, two already being pitched with accompanying bikes. After much deliberation I made the call to stay here for the night - it’d give me the opportunity to give some tlc to Barbara, and catch up with a good friend of mine. Besides a relaxing evening is never a bad thing! One of the other campers was a German lad, named Fabian. It was nice to have some company of someone my age and we chatted happily while I cooked.
Enjoy a terrible selection of photos |
