Day Forty-Five

26/06/25 - Day Forty-Five

Fortunately I woke up not feeling too bad considering last nights antics. And it was just as well, because today turned out to be a real fiasco. I went to collect my bike in the late afternoon, only to arrive and it hadn’t been worked on at all! I sat and waited while the mechanic worked on it in front of me. He rushed through it putting on the new parts, I then asked him to adjust the brakes and index the gears, to go with the altered parts. To my dismay he then charged me for a “small service”, and it was far from perfect. I kicked up a small fuss and he knocked off the price for changing the wheels. He then insisted I either paid cash or transferred him as the money for the wheels was going to him and the rest was for the shop. I transferred him due to a fee for cash withdrawals at the atm. After waiting for 30minutes for it to go through, it still hadn’t appeared in his account. We resolved that I’d come back in the morning when it’d have hopefully come through. With a sour taste left in my mouth I left.

Jakob had a date lined up, and so comically I tagged along. We enjoyed a lovely evening chatting and bar hopping, ending up at the fortress again, seeing the city at night, illuminated with light.
